As people we have many things in common… we’re also wonderfully different in a variety of ways. We believe that it’s these differences that make us stronger — differences of perspective, approach, ways of thinking and of living our lives. As a Trustee Board we are keen to put these differences to work — to play vital roles in the management of our Plan. It was with these very sentiments ringing in our ears that towards the end of last year we started looking for people to join our team.

Our approach this time differed from the past, and the results of the changes we made were even better than we could have imagined with more than 50 members applying to join the team. The selection process was made that much more difficult by the very high calibre of the individuals who applied and the fact they were all so wonderfully different – which is exactly what we were hoping for!

After a lot of deliberation, the Selection Committee decided to welcome three new members to the team, and keep Martin Bath within the team as well. Our new team members are:

Following discussions with all four, the Committee decided the three new members would benefit from spending a year in our newly formed Trustee Talent Pool, or TTP. As TTP members they will receive all the training and support that the Board members receive. They will also work with the Board on one of our Committees, gaining useful experience and a better understanding of what it means to be a Trustee Director. Martin will therefore fill the vacant Member Nominated Director (MND) position on the Trustee Board.

We really enjoyed meeting the candidates and would like to thank all those members who applied. We will be running another selection process later this year and would strongly encourage all Active and Pensioner members to consider applying.
