In 2020 we expanded our Trustee team with the creation of the Trustee Talent Pool, or TTP. It was introduced not only to enhance our diversity and help our team to continue being as inclusive as possible, but also to support and develop people who are interested in joining the team and who wanted some real-life experience, before taking the next step to become a Trustee Director.

By helping people ‘learn on the job’ we’re building a ready-made pool of talented individuals who are equipped and ready to hit the ground running. It’s really important that our Board reflects and represents our diverse membership and the addition of the TTP has helped make this a reality.

We were delighted with the response we received to our original campaign, in 2020, and our first TTP members were: Ailsa Beaton, Douglas Hill and Alan King. They’ve been supporting us for over a year now.

This year’s new team

In 2021, we asked again if anyone was interested in joining our team to become an MND or TTP member. We’re happy to congratulate Douglas Hill and Ailsa Beaton, who were selected from those who applied and appointed as Member Nominated Directors (MNDs) from 1 January 2022. It’s been great to see their development over the past year, and confirms the value of the TTP members.

New for 2022.....The TTP will also include members nominated by the Company as well as those selected by the membership, to ensure that there is a pool of candidates for both Member and Company Nominated Directors (MND & CND) on the Trustee team. We’re therefore delighted to welcome:

Michael Chappelle and Matthew Nyampingidza who were selected as our two new Member Nominated TTP members, and Elizabeth Tait and Marcus Walker our two new Company Nominated TTP members.

They’ll all join Stuart Bage (who has stood down as an MND but will still be part of the team as a TTP member) and Alan King to form this year’s TTP, which is now made up of four Member Nominated and two Company Nominated TTP members.

Farewells

During 2021, both James Heenan and Ian Chadwick decided to resign from the Trustee Board.

Jim had been a valued member of our team for over six years and as well as being a fun personality, he was a very dedicated MND. We'd like to thank Jim for his insight and contribution throughout his time on the Board and wish him all the best for his retirement.

We’d also like to thank Ian who was a dedicated CND for 3 years. His expertise in the area of Compliance helped bring better rigor and stronger processes in all areas of Board Governance.

They will be missed and we wish them all the best for the future.
